Steve Stred - Author of Mastodon

"The scenes are crisp and frantic and Campbell handles all with a wicked grin on her face. ‘Breach’ levels up the sum of its parts, bringing everything great about ‘Gulf’ into the fold and amplifying it in this new reality, and I for one, can’t wait for the third book to arrive."

Book  in the Dark Walker horror/sci-fi series

There are ways of travelling faster than light, but you have to dance with the darkness.

I should be dead. Shot twice through the chest. But the Embassy saved me because I’m a one-of-a-kind freak who blips between dimensions they can’t reach. Now I’m their mule, stripping riches from desperate worlds and ferrying them back to a greedy government. In return, my captors occasionally let me blip home. The visits are short because blipping attracts the darkness, and I don’t want it near my family. Bad enough that my brother senses that I’m in danger and is trying to find me. Worse still, the Embassy’s taken my old team hostage.

Charlie’s caged somewhere I can’t reach. Cory does the Embassy’s bidding because they’ve locked his husband in an institution.

But when Cory finds his spouse dead, he comes to me with a plan. This is my one chance to crush the Embassy, free Charlie, and avenge Cory’s grief, but one misstep will end us all. And if I’m too late, my brother’s attempts to save me will trigger an alien breach and the darkness will swallow us whole.
